Finding Faith ... in my Sunday Schoolers

ree

So on Sunday morning I arrived to church, melancholy at the thought of our beautiful sanctuary being almost empty ... on Easter morning of all things.

And then to think that we were going to have to broadcast Easter service through Facebook Live ... without seeing all of those bright, happy faces in the pews, and without our congregation being able to celebrate together.

But about an hour after I arrived, one of our Sunday School moms came and got me out of my Pastor's Office and said, "You gotta come to the Sanctuary. We have an Easter present for you."

When I arrived to the darkened sanctuary, she said, "No, you have to go down front." When I reached the front and turned around, she flipped on the sanctuary lights, and I was greeted with this: Eleven life-sized paper kiddos true to form. Each kiddo had decorated their own cut out down to their clothes and shoes. And each was holding the candy that bribe them with each Sunday!

After a very long and challenging Holy Week, I cannot express the joy this act of kindness brought to me. ... And, yes, there were tears. 😀

Thanks again to all of the Sunday School moms that made this happen, and especially to the kiddos! ... Thank you to Jordan, Scout, Kase, Riley, Bridgit, Piper, Lilli, Zayden, Anton, Darin and Allison! ... You all made my heart smile this morning! ❤️🙏😀

You all are my sunshine ... and I am the luckiest pastor ever! 💒🙏🔥🐇❤️😀When your Sunday Schoolers take it upon themselves to ensure that the pastor also is greeted and uplifted on Easter!
