I'm not entirely sure why National Coffee Day isn't a holiday.
I see my social media channels flooded with photos of sons and daughters and dogs and cats on a myriad of made up and fake recognition days, but seriously where are the posts about this delicious juice of productivity today? ... National Coffee Day, of all days?
Let's face it: Our kids just want money and they never call us. ... And while our dogs and cats are cute, do they do for us what coffee does? ... That's an emphatic no.
So it's high time that we take to our social media channels and flood them with photos of our coffee cups, my friends. ... It's National Coffee Day, and we should rightly pay homage.
In that vein, here is a photo of my cup. ... Admittedly, I have taken a lot of heat from coworkers over the years for the state of my cup. It grosses them out. They ask how I can drink from that unwashed cup day after day after day.
But I ask you: Do you scrub clean your cast iron pans? ... And if you say yes, then you're just simply wrong.
Coffee cups are meant to hold the ghosts of cups past. There should be a solid caffeinated base in every cup before you begin to pour the next, or you're just doing it wrong. ... Sorry, that's just facts.
So here's to all of those dedicated joe aficionados out there joining me in celebration today. May your coffee be cold, hot, strong, weak, frufru or straight black! ... However you take it, I won't judge! Happy National Coffee Day!
