Finding Faith ... in an unexpected visit to Denver

So thanks to a doozy of a blizzard that knocked airline travel offline for days, and snarled all the flights across the Midwest for days, I ended up spending an unexpected four days in the Denver International Airport and the Westin Denver International Airport.
I had traveled to Galveston, Texas, for a media convention, and had to my chagrin just days earlier posted a photo of the beautiful blue skyline and water to poke fun at all of friends and family who were stuck back home in the middle of a blizzard. ... Boy, did that come back to haunt me!
The blizzard hit just a few days earlier, but was such a big one, it derailed plane routes for days. And I was not unscathed because I was safely tucked away on the country's southern shores.
On Saturday, when I was set to leave, I hopped in my shuttle in Galveston, knowing that in the hour it would take to get to Houston, a lot could change. At the time, my flight was still on schedule, but given the mess in the Midwest, I wasn't very hopeful. But, alas, I got there, and our flight took off.

A couple of hours later, we landed at Denver International Airport, and we were promptly informed that our plane had been delayed. There is a long story to this saga, but most importantly, I found out that I wasn't going anywhere until Tuesday, so I might as well get comfortable.
I luckily found a hotel room at the Westin that sits right on the airport property, and tried to figure out what to do with no clothes, no toothbrush and no CPAP. ... I managed just fine, but most importantly is that I got to spend the next day going sightseeing with a longtime friend. And that made it a glorious day.

So, here is a quick photo tour of some sights in downtown Denver and out at Red Rocks Amphitheater. It's not so much a travelogue post as it is a photo shoot but I didn't want these photos to go to waste, and I seriously want to get back there some time.
But in short, go see the old Union Station Depot in downtown Denver; go across the street to the 16th Street Mall; and finally go check out Red Rocks.
When you only have six hours to sight see, that is what your descriptions boil down to, but next time I'm there, I promise to do a much better reporting job!
