Finding Faith ... in my sister's kindness

ree

Yesterday, I received in the mail a card from my sister. It wasn't meant for me, but for the Sunday school moms who orchestrated my big Easter morning surprise involving the paper cutouts of our Faith Lutheran Sunday school kiddos. She had mailed it to me to share with the Sunday school moms.

It is a simple, but beautiful card expressing my sister's joy over the wonderful surprise, and it made my heart swell. My sister has such a beautiful heart, and she's taking the down time she has because of the pandemic to write as many cards of thanks that she can. In fact, she's currently working on a set of 50 colorings that she plans to send to the assisted living facility in which my mom lives. ... She is the epitome of a giving heart.

The act was simple, but yet so thoughtful, and it filled my heart with pride to be her brother. Not to mention reminded me that it doesn't take great acts of heroics to make a difference. You can sit down and write a sincere and kind note that is as heroic as any other selfless act being committed in the name of neighborly love right now.

And so, today, I am finding faith in my sister's thank you card to my Sunday school moms. ... Amen.
